Review of Design-Oriented Green Information Systems Research
نویسندگان
چکیده
Green IS (GIS) research addresses environmental challenges brought on by climate change and the need to preserve natural environment. Within this scope, design-oriented research, most notably within Design Science Research (DSR) community, aims provide solutions these in form of novel artifacts. The resulting are valuable instruments for reducing emissions, increasing energy efficiency, mitigating waste. Over past 14 years, community was called upon multiple times focus designing suitable facilitating sustainability. However, it is unclear how calls action resonated community. Against background, we analyzed landscape GIS looking at 60 different studies that have designed evaluated an artifact. By analyzing publications, were able make six observations. Based observations, discuss can evolve live up expectations creating immediate positive impact.

Received: 3 October 2010 Revised: 24 October 2010 Accepted: 2 November 2010 Abstract In response to Österle et al.’s ‘Memorandum on Design Oriented Information Systems Research’, this commentary disputes, and expands the context of, several premises used to justify the main argument in the memorandum. These include: (1) claims about the evolution and role of design science research in the broad...
متن کاملDesign-oriented Research versus Research-oriented Design
In this position paper, the two terms design-oriented research and research-oriented design are studied and discussed in some detail in relation to HCI. In designoriented research—where research is the area and design the means—the production of new knowledge and the questioning of problem descriptions and other kinds of limitations to the freedom of design are seen as characterizing elements. ...

Evaluation of health information systems is an effective approach to ensure the efficacy of the system which can lead to the improvement in quality of health care services. The main aims of evaluation are to identify the strength and efficiency of system in health care delivery, to identify the weaknesses of the system, and to suggest general recommendations for improving the performance of the...
متن کاملDesign science in information systems research
Two paradigms characterize much of the research in the Information Systems discipline: behavioral science and design science. The behavioralscience paradigm seeks to develop and verify theories that explain or predict human or organizational behavior. The design-science paradigm seeks to extend the boundaries of human and organizational capabilities by creating new and innovative artifacts. Bot...
